“What the hell are you doing?” The cyborg’s dark voice sounded even more commanding up close.
“Shut up, dork. I’m getting you out of this hellhole,” Cerina said.
“You?” He looked her over as if scanning her body from head to toe. His stern look made it apparent that he considered her incapable of doing anything beneficial for him.
Cerina didn’t bother to answer. Instead, she entered the code to the platinum chains holding him.
“Does that answer your question?” she asked smugly as she pushed his chains aside.
He didn’t hesitate. Only got to his feet and checked the hallway.
“Come,” Cerina said and reached for his arm. It was warmer than she had imagined, but nothing about him was like she had expected of a man that was half man, half machine. She knew he was a cyborg, and she’d been told to fear them all her life. They needed to be controlled and locked down, or they would take over the entire planet.
He followed as they ran down corridors. The monitor on her tablet showed her the route, and the guards were pinpointed as small red dots.
“Where did you get that?” he asked.
“You ask too many questions,” Cerina said. “Keep your mouth shut, and you will get out of here.”
