Excerpt:

Fifteen minutes later, Eden had to admit defeat. She felt outmanoeuvred in the worst way. No matter how much she'd tried, there was no way to remove the dress without help or without ruining it. The latter wasn’t an option since they had rented the damn thing. The only solution was to sleep in it, but with the tight corset around her waist, there was no way she’d get a decent night of sleep unless the dress came off. She would wring Amelia's neck when she saw her next time. This had to be her doing.

She texted Amelia. ‘I hate the dress. It won’t come off.’

‘Want some help?’

‘Yes.’

‘Too bad. I’m away for the weekend. Ask Cooper.’

‘You did this on purpose?’

‘Tell him he needs to practise more if he can’t help you.’

Yeah right. As if she would even consider saying something like that to Cooper. He might think she planned to seduce him. Again. She could already picture the smug smile he would give her when she asked him for help. But there was no other alternative. He was the only one around, and she had to ask him before he went to bed. She walked down the hallway quickly before she changed her mind and regretted her decision. She saw the light coming from beneath his door, and she tapped it quickly.

"Yes?" Cooper said from the inside.

Sheepishly, Eden opened the door and peeked inside. "Uhm, could you help me with the dress? I can’t reach the fastening."

For a moment, Cooper looked as if he was disappointed in her. "Really? That's the oldest trick in the book.”

Eden felt insulted. He was jumping to conclusions. "You seriously think I came here to seduce you?" she spat at him.

He crossed his arms in front of his chest and leaned back on his chair. "Didn't you?"
