Jayci Robb, age two months, was scheduled for a craniectomy at Primary Childrens Medical Center. Dr. Barry Anderton, a specialist in pediatric anesthesiology, anesthetized Jayci with halothane and nitrous oxide. Once Jayci was asleep, he passed an endotracheal tube into her trachea for the administration of oxygen. Dr. Anderton checked the tube for proper placement and then connected it to a ventilator designed to perform the breathing process.
