Description

INTRODUCTION Overweight and obesity are rapidly increasing among children and adolescents in developing countries (1,2). Adolescence is one of the critical periods for obesity and is related to morbidity and mortality in adulthood (3-5). Similar to obesity among adults, overweight and obesity among adolescents are more common in lower socioeconomic groups than in higher socioeconomic groups in developed countries (6,7). Overweight and obesity among adolescents by socioeconomic levels have been less studied in developing countries.
