Description

Stephen Chbosky's novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a popular and classic story about a high school boy navigating the waters through his first year of high school. This coming of age story is much loved for its ability to truly capture so many experiences and emotions that we experience as we come of age. In this unit we will read Chbosky's novel to experience this story for ourselves and examine the impact of coming of age stories in our own lives.

We were Invincible is a Project Based Learning Unit aligned to the Common Core State Standards. In this unit, you will:
Read modern classic teen literature Use evidence from a story to examine what it means to "come of age" in today's society Perform an analytical reading of the text Critique, compare, and contrast texts presented in different mediums
