Description

Logistics is a part of the supply chain management which
strategies, executes and manages the storage and flow of
products and goods between two points. The first point is the
origin of the goods or the place of storage/production and the
endpoint is the place where the products or goods are going
to be consumed according to the demands of the customers in
that specific area. Logistics includes activities like warehousing,
transportation, inventory management, order fulfillment, planning
demand and supply, packaging, assembling, scheduling the
delivery of packages, managing third-party logistics service
providers and customer service. Strategic planning and
execution of the plan are what logistics is entirely based on.
The other functions of demand and supply chain are highly
dependent on the accurate functioning of logistics. It helps in
managing and optimizing all these activities and keeps the chain
going.
