Description

This book shows how more than three and a half millennia ago, the Phoenicians, ancient inhabitants of Lebanon, improvised a simple writing system of twenty-two alphabetical letters. This was completely different from the complicated pictographs and symbols of hieroglyphs and cuneiform of those days. Their alphabet was adopted by mostly all the nations of the Mediterranean and later gave rise to the alphabet we use nowadays.
