The Scores That Will Take Care of Itself: Principles on Leadership and How to be Successful In Life Many times, success is seen as a product-oriented process where end goals take precedence over the path to reach them. The less obvious yet most deep understanding is that the real success comes from following principles, processes and systems rather than just wanting results. In this essay, I take a dive into the philosophy behind this and make an argument that pursuing success systematically ensures not just success in itself but also its continuity and progression alike. The Primacy of Principles The foundation of all success is principles. They are eternal principles that direct conduct, rule the will, and or descend from ethical standards down to long-term goals. Principles aren't like short-term tactics (which often come and go, one day being in favor with the God of SEO while tomorrow has them serving a lifetime sentence in purgatory); instead they're rigorously steadfast guiding lights—not allowing you to deviate too far from the good path. A corporation that values customer satisfaction above anything else is going to evolve their processes, systems and tools etc. organically in the way they kind of do things from an operations perspective which just by default will or should out-compete all others over time maintaining a priming position as market leader for example.
