Dear Children, Parents, Grandmas and Grandads
For several years, there have been warnings from scientists of awaiting us climate change. Hurricanes and tornadoes, heavy rains causing floods, huge snowstorms, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, tragic in its consequences tsunamis are the phenomena which are more and more often reported by the press, radio and television. Well, it is difficult to fight against nature. As long as man cannot control the elements, from an early age we have to learn to live and deal with threats. In 2011, the island of Honshu in Japan was hit by a powerful earthquake that triggered an unprecedented tsunami. The consequences were thousands of fatalities and massive destruction. The whole world saw the tragedy of the Japanese, but also the whole world admired their courage and sacrifice in their struggle against the elements. Inhabitants of faraway countries provided aid and sympathy to the victims of this tragedy because it is only natural for every human being in such moments."The Big Wave" is a story about those hard times in Japan, but, above all, it is praise of human solidarity and support that one should provide for another human at such times.
