Dear Parents!
We are happy to introduce you and your children to the first fairy tale in our educational series. This fairy tale is a story of an acquaintance between a little girl, Annie and Buzz-Buzz the bee.
Children and most adults are terribly afraid of bees. A fear of being stung makes us act aggressively towards them - we flap our arms, trying to drive them away, we make sudden movements, we run away or try to kill them. From our point of view, we just defend ourselves. From the point of view of the bees, our actions may be and probably are regarded as threat to their lives. As a result, they sting only to protect themselves.
The worst thing is, that we behave this way in presence of our children, to whom we are role models.
Besides, bees are such useful, hard-working and smart insects.
We do hope that if both our children and us get to know the life and the work of bees a little better, this might change our behaviour and attitude towards these insects for the better. We owe them so much after all.
That's what this fairy tale is about.
