Excerpt: “Do you intend on passing my class, Eddie?” He looked at her, brows furrowed, uncomprehending. “Uh, yeah?” “And how is that? By my record you have yet to turn in a single assignment, and you come to class less than half the time. If you don’t pick up the slack, you’re headed straight for a big fat F.” Eddie seemed to relax at that, for reasons that she couldn’t fathom. “Oh, it’s okay. My dad graduated from here, y’know, and he’s got this wing named after him-” Unbelievable. Not only did he expect to coast right on through to graduation, he was banking on it. Alice ground her teeth and fought the urge to knee him. There was no way she was taking a bribe to pass this little jackass, any kind of bribe. But at the same time, the school really needed that money- and if it hinged on Eddie, well… So be it. Never let it be said that she didn’t know how to get her hands dirty. She set the packet of papers back down on her desk and sat at her chair. It just took a little kick to give her some space, and then she crossed one long leg over the other. It made her skirt ride up a little, and she caught Eddie staring. Alice smiled a little to herself. Fish, meet hook. She crooked her finger. “Come here, Eddie.”
