This is the story and history of the Royql Jubilee Arms Hotel in Dykehead by Cortachy and near KIRRIEMUIR IN ANGUS. The TJA is one of the best known and best loved hotels in this important tourist area of Scotland. The Glens of Clova and Prossen have long been the destinations for 1000`s of tourists every year plus the Huntin` Fishin` and Shootin` parties of the Earls of Airlie just down the road from the hotel. The author purchased the hotel in 1981 but due to an action of fraud was unable to make a profit on the purchase but did manage to sustain the Hotel for the benefit of the local population and the 1000`s of residents and visitors later. The author has been following the trials and tribulations of the hotel for many years since and has also uncovered much of the original history and images of the lovely old original Victorian building. Unfortunately the appalling extensions constructed in the 1970`s have now crumbled and have been demolmished and work is underway to restore the original building to use, possibly as flats plus additional dwellings in the hotel and motel grounds.
