Drawing Physiology The Circulation by Patrick Eggena

Drawing Physiology The Circulation

By

Description

This ebook is written for college students who have completed a human physiology course and are entering the field of medicine as nurses, nurse practitioners, or doctors. The textbook consists of videos in which the author draws on a white board as he explains basic principles of circulatory physiology. Each of the 22 video lectures is followed by an essay question which the student is asked to answer with a labeled drawing. Answers are provided with hand-drawn figures by the author. Students are encouraged to practice drawing these figures, as they may be asked to do so on a graphic essay exam. This way of teaching minimizes anxiety because the student knows exactly what is expected on the exam. It also minimizes the time it takes for grading because graphic essays, unlike written essays, can be inspected for completeness and accuracy in seconds. The philosophy of this text book is that graphic essays are good indicators of a student’s ability to integrate and apply physiology and may, therefore, serve as useful supplements to multiple choice exams, as is illustrated here by a true/false question exam.
