The Lake District became a popular tourist destination as early as the late 18th century, after its "discovery" by the poet Thomas Gray, who published an account of his travels through the Lakes in 1769. This guidebook, produced by the well-known firm of Adam and Charles Black of Edinburgh, was already in its 14th edition by 1866.
This book was created from a scan of the original artifact, and as such the text of the book is not selectable or searchable.
