Lord Edgar Ashenbert and his fairy doctor, Lydia Carlton, continue to plan for their wedding. Unfortunately, it seems as though the road to the ceremony will be a long one, beset by troubles. While Edgar wishes for Lydia to think of nothing but their upcoming union, she struggles to do so. As he works to hide a terrible secret from her, she becomes increasingly suspicious.
Meanwhile, the Carltons receive a pair of visitors from the Scottish Highlands. Not only do they claim that there is calamity coming to the fairy world, but they are from the same clan as Lydia’s mother, about whom she knows little and is endlessly curious. Will Edgar and Lydia ever catch a moment’s rest?
