Meet Ellie Rose. She’s on a journey to become a college softball player. She’s bashful and she’s a girl of few words. She grew up on a farm, and she likes the outside more than the inside. She also likes thinking and dreaming more than she likes talking. Playing college softball is a dream she’s had since the age of ten, and it’s become her mission in life. On her journey she’ll meet some interesting new friends and teammates, like the cocky fire balling pitcher from Clearwater, Diana Shaw. Ellie’s received a scholarship to play softball for the Cloud County Thunderbirds, a community college in Concordia, Kansas and everything seems to be set up nicely for her. She has a scholarship and the Fall season is about to begin. The only problem is that Ellie doesn’t feel like a college ballplayer. She’s not sure if she has what it takes to be a starter or even a valued member of the team. The answers to those questions are part of the journey.
