Flight Films of Augusta: CSRA Photography and Interactive Art -By G. Bold A Different Way to See the CSRA. Flight Films of Augusta is an interactive art project that uses aerial drone photography to document the architecture and landscapes of the Central Savannah River Area. This isn't just a static collection; it’s a tool for art therapy designed to help you slow down and view your community from a higher angle as well as a way for small businesses in the CSRA to engage with their community. Inside the Book 29+ Regional Locations: Detailed views of the Savannah River, the Confederate Powder Works, and local spots across Thomson, Harlem, Evans, and North Augusta. Digital-to-Analog Interaction: Designed for flexibility, these pages are meant to be screenshotted and printed. Color them on your tablet or on paper as many times as you want. Location Highlights Augusta, GA: Richmond Academy, the Augusta Canal, and the Riverfront Marina. Thomson, GA: First Methodist Church and Kent’s Drive-In. Evans & Harlem, GA: Lady A Amphitheater and Harlem Fire Station No. 1. North Augusta, SC: The River Club and the 13th Street Bridge. The Reality Behind the Project This book was put together by Hammond Bold, whose path was shaped by an intense medical timeline. By the age of 23, Hammond had already navigated a bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy, radiation, a double hip replacement, and an ankle fusion. After spending the last 3 and a half years as a Respiratory Therapist in ICU and burn units, the long-term effects of those early treatments in his life resulted in advanced Avascular Necrosis and Charcot foot conditions that lead to progressive bone breakdown and structural collapse. Returning to drone photography became a way to stay creative and connected to the region while managing these physical limitations. Direct Support: This project highlights the beauty of the CSRA while helping Hammond navigate the medical system. Proceeds go directly toward his ongoing treatment and the fight to preserve his mobility.
