Description

The organic farmer who delivered strawberries to the B&B was definitely the Martha Becker he had dated in high school forty years ago, but why was she pretending not to know him?

Nicholas Henderson, middle-aged entrepreneur, the idea man for a dozen successful businesses, having buried his wife and their son, is looking for a new idea to challenge him as he begins to come back to life. He's been traveling the United States, looking for a new business to invent or an old one to rescue, when he stops at a B&B in Iowa, just for the night—or so he thinks. But then he recognizes the organic farmer who supplies the B&B with eggs and vegetables. She is his high school sweetheart, the one who got away, but for some reason, she pretends not to know him.

Martha Elliott, who left her position as the school librarian in a little town in order to nurse her sick husband, has been running an organic farm in the ten years since he died. She got the surprise of her life when she ran into Nick Henderson at the B&B. Why had he dropped her like a hot potato forty years ago? Did he have any idea that he had broken her heart? Did he care?

As a killer March blizzard bears down on this little Iowa town, Nick and Martha are thrown together rescuing stranded travelers and helping the elderly owners of the B&B cope with double their normal number of guests. There are questions that must be answered if they are to find their way to peace about the past, and maybe more than that.
