Description

Anne Labastille is a biography of author and scientist Mariette Anne LaBastille that follows her life in chronological order from her birth in 1933 to her death in 2011. Each of the sixteen chapters begins with a quote from Anne that correlates with the subject matter in the chapter.   Working from Anne’s six books she wrote about her environmental work around the globe and her life in the Adirondacks, this book tells her complete story in one text, while filling in the missing pieces of her legacy. The author completed extensive research of Anne’s personal papers while conducting interviews with family, friends, colleagues, and the executrix of her estate. Although Anne has been widely written about, no one has written a comprehensive biography that gives a wider view of the person she was and what she accomplished.
