Description

Beowulf is an Old English epic poem about the heroic warrior Beowulf, who battles three major foes: Grendel, a monster terrorizing King Hrothgar’s hall; Grendel’s vengeful mother; and, later in life, a dragon threatening his kingdom. Beowulf slays all three but dies from wounds sustained in his final battle.
The poem explores themes of heroism, loyalty, fate, and the struggle between good and evil. Celebrated as a cornerstone of English literature, Beowulf highlights the values of courage and legacy in the face of mortality.
