Description

While dhamma is an expression, a textual expedient, for the truth or
sacca elaborated by the Buddha, abhidhamma is the way in which dhamma is understood, and applied to realities, by the disciples of the Buddha at their levels. This is the point of difference between dhamma and abhidhamma. For this reason, we, the disciples of the Buddha, can and must discuss the meanings of the dhamma and generate an abhidhamma thesis continously. If the process of discussing the dhamma and generating abhidhamma ceases, it would mean that Buddhism would be dead. This is the reason why we must never stop
generating abhidhamma.
