Description

Sight is an amazing gift. And losing this ability can be life-changing. The loss of vision by the development of cataracts is just such a fact. And the thought of someone cutting into your eye is frightening for most people. Yet around 200,000 people face cataract surgery every year. The very thought can terrify and cause some to cancel their scheduled procedure at the last minute. I saw this the day I went in for my cataract surgery. Two people failed to show up, so my surgery was moved up.

I wrote this book to give you an eye witness look (pun intended) into the whole process of cataract surgery. In this book, I explain how I prepared for surgery, who I met with, what tests they conducted and how they got me ready. Then I share how my actual surgery procedure went—what happened from the moment I checked in, how they prepared me for the operation, what I felt during surgery, and how I was treated all the way through the cataract replacement, through  recovery and to discharge.

Finally, I explain my feeling and my sight as I was driven home—discomfort (if any); what I saw and how my healing progressed.

Each day I recorded how I felt and what I saw as the color of objects changed and my visual acuity progressed. Now that I'm back to normal—with significantly improved vision, I'm sharing my cataract surgery story with you.
