Carole is a writer. Not just any sort of writer, but a writer of erotic stories such as you might find on a site like this one. Except that she has a very bad case of writer's block and hasn't posted a story in months.
Through the site on which she posts, she has been corresponding for some time with a fellow writer, James. He notices that she hasn't posted any stories in a while and asks her what's wrong.
