This book aims to explain common vocabulary problems to students of English as a foreign or second language and to provide them with an opportunity to do some simple vocabulary exercises. Of course, not every learner will have the same problems and there are likely to be different problems for learners whose first languages differ. As I have been working in China, it is predictable that these problems are common with Chinese learners.
Each entry contains a short explanation on correct usage and is followed by an exercise (usually of five items). There is an answer key at the end of the book. Sometimes, suggested answers are given where there are many possible answers or where learners have been encouraged to create their own examples.
