Description

Physics! serves as a supplement to the textbook for your introductory college physics course. Standard textbooks contain  equations, figures, active figures, examples, problems, quick quizzes, concept reviews, concept inventories, chapter summaries, glossaries, charts, graphs, etc. Somewhere in this pedagogical passel, plainspoken explanations can become lost, or at least hard to find.  This book seeks to fill that gap. The volumes and chapters follow the typical progression of topics providing simple definitions, clear explanations, and plenty of irreverence.

The books includes video solutions to some problems and a few demonstrations. I have found such videos to be very helpful when teaching introductory physics. Imagine having the power to pause and rewind (or perhaps mute) your professor! While full video lectures could serve this purpose, the format I provide here lets you move efficiently through the material, only studying detailed video solutions when needed.

Volume 1, Chapter 1 is titled Numbers and covers three introductory concepts: scientific notation, units, and vectors.
