Description

Is an employee rendered ineligible for unemployment benefits if, in the face of continuing harassment and threatened dismissal in retaliation for her union activities and "whistle blowing" to public authorities, she quits her job rather than wait to be fired? We hold that an employee who quits under such circumstances has "good cause" for doing so within the meaning of Unemployment Insurance Code section 1256, and thus does not lose her eligibility on that account.
