Introduction and Initial Considerations Humans are sexual animals, but vary across cultures in their propensity to use sex as a non-procreative and pleasurable activity. Sexual behaviors in the nonprocreative tradition differ across partners; depend on the availability of partners, fantasies, and opportunities; and are influenced by cultural norms, mores or morals, religion, religious taboos, types of societies, and expectations of its members.
