The Inspector-General

This classic five-act satirical comedy by nineteenth-century Russian novelist and playwright Nikolai Gogol involves an inspector coming to a small Russian town run by corrupt officials. The play was originally staged in 1936. This volume is an English translation by Thomas Seltzer, published in 1916.
