Description

When many towns in the area were simple "hamlets", Acerenthia was an important and glorious Byzantine city. Even today, eminent sacred buildings stand out, largely preserved thanks to structural interventions carried out by the local administration, together with the Superintendence for cultural heritage and the University of Geneva, with the aim of creating an interesting archaeological park of considerable value, which can attract the visitor's interest, both from a cultural and historical landscape point of view. The Municipal Administration, in welcoming all those who want to honor us with their presence, propose to promote initiatives aimed at making the Acerenthia Archaeological Park usable, welcoming, thus giving the visitor the opportunity to rediscover the historical and cultural heritage of our country . (Giovanni Frontera, Mayor)
