Description

What do you get when you mix desperation, anger, and loneliness?

Don’t ask.

Kamala
With three jobs, not enough hours in the day, only one friend, and a small mouth to feed, Kamala Edwards didn’t have time to complain, even if she wanted to. Well…if she could just ignore how it was all worth it for her brother’s sake, she’d complain aplenty. Still, other than the fact that sleep was an unattainable dream, Kamala’s life was too busy for anything else.

However, when the opportunity for a great-paying job comes her way, there’s not enough alcohol on the planet to erase the chaos of an interview that she finds herself in. With the plan to ace the interview, snag the job, quit all her other jobs, then live with a touch less stress in her life, Kamala thinks her plan is perfect. That is, until humiliation taints everything.

Humiliation = Kane Alexander, the boss.

Kane
With a successful business, a supportive family, two of the most loyal friends ever, and more money than he ever imagined he’d have, Kane Alexander had no complaints. Well…if he didn’t count his childhood and his issues with his father, then he had nothing to complain about. Still, other than his issues with his past, Kane’s life was pretty magnificent.

However, when a craptastic morning turns him into a jerk of the highest order, there aren’t enough priests on the planet to absolve him of the guilt he finds himself drowning in. Armed with the plan to do whatever he has to in order to make things right, Kane thinks he’s got this thing won. That is, until feistiness meets pride.

Feistiness = Kamala Edwards, the interviewee.

Oh, the web we weave…
With an interview that’s turned into a horrible experience, and that same interview that’s turned into a shameful lesson in humility, Kamala finds herself having to swallow her pride to do what’s best for her little brother, regardless of the fact that her new boss is a complete jerkface.

Their need is undeniable, but then so is the fact that happily ever after doesn’t always trump real life and all of its issues. With the weight of the world crushing them both, everything starts unraveling when they realize their priorities are very different.

Kamala finds herself regretting ever interviewing for that stupid job, and Kane finds himself regretting being such a f***ing bastard.

NOTE: This book contains adult language, adult situations, explicit sexual encounters, strip clubs, and some really horrible karaoke singing. If sensitive to any of the aforementioned issues, please do not purchase.
