Description

A Sportsman’s Paradise is an interactive book, of a first-person narrative depicting the life of a buffalo hunter by the name of Billy Dixon. Readers will experience how life must have been for the early buffalo hunters of the 1870’s.

The book is designed in an interactive format using audio, which automatically plays the narratives represented on individual pages. The first audio file begins on page 17 with the Brad Smalley narration of Mike McCabe. Mike McCabe tells the story of two buffalo hunters after they arrive in Dodge City. He describes the settlement as it appeared in September of 1872. The digital book provides 23 audio files, two movies, two interactive maps of the early trails south of the Arkansas River, and 24 photos designed to give depth to the historical aspects of the times.

At the end of chapter two a gallery of rare, historical photos of Dodge City are explained as represented throughout the book. The story of Billy Dixon is a masterpiece in esthetic development of historical significance depicting the life on the prairie in Southwest Kansas during the 1870’s.
