Kaye was supposed to marry Lewis, a man she didn’t love, to make up for her younger brother’s stealing from Lewis’s company. But right before they could exchange their vows, a man named Jack Masefield appeared in the church doorway. Kaye fell in love with him six years ago. When Jack saved her grandfather’s life, Kaye promised she would help him someday…with anything at any time and anywhere. And so Jack absconds with Kaye, still in her wedding dress, in order to cash in on that promise.
