War Diary (1944) of Signalman Binks A.

This is a transcription of the second of two diaries of Signalman Alf Binks. This 1944 diary tells of his life in India and Burma. Before finding the diaries the only thing I had known about “Uncle Alf’s war “ was that he had served in Burma. Reading his diaries put a whole new light on his war service. These were not diaries of a great hero they were just the day to day writings of a man making the best of a bad situation.
