Description

Vince is a mustanger with a solitary camp high in the Hondo Mountains, where he works his operation alone. He likes it that way.

Then, on a trip back from selling some mustangs, he comes across Julie, a saloon girl on the run from some bad hombres—two cold-eyed killers working for Kyle Allison, the down-and-dirty owner of the Wild Horse Saloon.

Turns out Allison had old man Gustafson murdered to take his mining claim, and Julie overheard them plotting the crime. Fearing for her life, she stole a horse and fled west, aiming for Colorado or Montana. Before she could make it, though, her mount turned up lame in the middle of the unforgiving desert.
Vince takes her back to his camp with the notion that, as soon as her horse heals up, he’ll send her on her way. But then he falls in love with her. Before he knows it, her fight is his fight, and he’s looking forward to a life with her.

They just have to survive a small war first.

Filled with characters straight out of a classic John Wayne western, The Mustanger and the Lady is a rousing tale of love, loyalty, and survival in the lawless lands of the American West, told with the authenticity of a real cowboy—legendary Western author Dusty Richards.
