Magnus Trench, a.k.a. Phoenix, is back in action. This is the classic update of the classic post-nuclear saga.

     "See the Peak of Destiny!" Faraway gestured at the crest of the rollercoaster where a brace of badasses manned a .50 caliber Browning machinegun nest. 
     "Through this storm of lethal lead the Cowardly Lion will travel after passing through the Pit of Fire." The spotlight fell on the machinegunners who cut loose a full-auto volley to the delight of the capacity audience.
     "And all the while, Phoenix will be chained to his car, hotly pursued by these fierce warriors you now see before you!" 
     A four man badass crew stepped forward into the spotlight's glare. The hardguy hit crew packed lethal full auto weapons and spat at Phoenix as they passed his car.
     "Last but not least," the dwarf jester went on, "our brave hero Phoenix will be armed with only the crudest weapons. 
     He picked up a shield made of the hood of a Cadillac -- the hood ornament was still there -- and chucked it into Phoenix's car. The shield was followed by a sword made out of the axle of a Chevy.
     "Let's have a real big hand for Phoenix, the Cowardly Lion!" Faraway said...
