Women (now called Sisters) rule the world and brothers (never ever say men) are almost extinct, due to The Change in leadership, The War between the genders, and The Y, a virus that kills only men. Conspiracists believe Sisters created the virus. Undergrounders and Appleseeds (sperm donors) fight for a rumored vaccine, while Sisters redefine themselves, discovering the joy of a world with few brothers.
