This Journey of the Big White Wombat involved a dash to the north, along the Stuart Highway to Katherine in the Northern Territory, and then a turn to the west, to travel via the Gibb River Road, through the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The journey then went southwest along the Western Australia coastline to Geraldton, where it took a turn east, to travel to again cross the width of western Australia, joining with the Eyre Highway and across the Nullarbor back home to Adelaide. It was a long trip, just over 13,000 kilometres.
