How to Turkish Get-Up

By

Description

When it comes to training there are few exercises that target the whole body the way a Turkish Get-Up does. It’s a movement that requires you to link numerous smaller movement patterns together recruiting virtually all of your muscles, including the smaller stabilisers, all whilst taking you through the three planes of motion - frontal, sagittal and transverse.
The Turkish Get-Up tests both your stability and mobility. Two things that so many people neglect when it comes to training. Because of this it isn’t an exercise you should rush. Moving too fast will inhibit your ability to maintain the correct positioning and body mechanics. As an exercise it’s advanced as it seems, but if you break the movement down into the 7 steps contained in this guide, master each position, you will soon have the coordination and subsequent strength required to perfect it.
