If you don't like language rules much, and get bored easily with textbooks, you can build vocabulary and learn syntax with stories.
We will read together an abridgment of a short story I have written originally in Italian, The Ducati Girl: Family Affair, then translated in Cebuano. This is a parallel structure Cebuano/English. Phrases alone are tedious and difficult to memorize for vocabulary-building; some people prefer stories for accelerated learning because words are easier to remember.
No programme alone is sufficient to make you proficient in a foreign language. Use different tools and add them to your toolbox.
