Description

Imagine a world where advanced technology is common and its usage has become second nature to the people who live in it.

The story begins in a city carved into the side of a mountain, a city named High Steps. To those who live here, advanced technology is used in everyday settings. The people aren’t the only ones who make use of this technology. A race of dragon- like creatures called datadrakes populate this world, and though they are native to the planet, they are entirely made of steel and wires, purely inorganic. Many humans have adopted datadrakes as their pets and companions. This otherwise peaceful city has recently come under threat by an alien race called the Nightfall Legion. They seek to destroy humanity and combine with datadrakes to make themselves stronger, a process called assimilation. The only thing that can save the city of High Steps is their guardian datadrake, a massive creature who has the ability to protect the human race and save smaller datadrakes from assimilation. However, the guardian has long since fallen into disrepair and can no longer activate.
