Nick Civella led a Kansas City Mafia that was very influential in Teamsters Union issues, especially the matter of the lucrative Central States Pension Fund. Control of the fund was greatly coveted by the Chicago mob as well. Civella used loans from the fund to finance his entry into the Tropicana Hotel. The FBI also figures prominently in my e-book. Specifically, a tape of the Civellas meeting in a Kansas City neighbor's basement disclosed Nick Civella's brother asking him for permission to carry out a mob hit.
