Aimed at advanced upper elementary and middle school students, these 24 activities allow students to explore traditional geometric constructions using only a compass and a straight edge. The initial introduction to each concept is done through the use of concrete tools. Once they have mastered a skill they are then guided into the exploration of more abstract geometric concepts through the use of Cabri Jr.® that is found on the TI-84 calculator.
Each lesson is designed to engage students in group explorations and is followed by further analysis of each concept. Open ended questions are included with each lesson to encourage higher level thinking skills.
